Assistant HoLA for English (Permanent, Full-Time)

Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora is a leading state day and boarding school for Years 9-13 students, located in the heart of Christchurch City by Hagley Park.

We are seeking a professional and motivated person with a passion for girls' education to fill the Assistant Head of Learning Area (HoLA) for English permanent full-time position. 

The Assistant HoLA will prioritise a relational and responsive culture while shaping a future focused curriculum. They will foster a team spirit of collaboration amongst staff and encourage and engage in reflective practice.

This role will work very closely with the HoLA for English and assist in ensuring the quality delivery of the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students. They will promote and plan for school improvement, and advocate for equitable and excellent outcomes.

This position has 2 MUs, 1 MMA and 4 hours release time per fortnight for these responsibilities, in addition to the standard teacher non-contact allocation under the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement 2025-2027.
